FIRST PRESIDENT OF IRELAND
Edward George de Valera, known Eamon de Valera, was born 14 of October 1882 and he died 29 of August 1975. It was of the key political figures of the twntieth century Ireland. He was in public office from 1917-1973, occupying positions several times prime minister and president. He was a mathematician, professor and politician. He served as head of the Irish government on three occasions: as Príomh Air, as the second President of the Executive Council (the original name of the Prime Minister) and the first Taoiseach, (prime minister from 1937). It was also chancellor of the National University of Ireland from 1922-1975.

FLAG OF IRELAND
The flag of Ireland, it is known as the Irish tricolor is the national flag of the Republic of Ireland. The flag was adopted as the flag of Irish Free State from its creation in 1922 was confirmed as an official flag in the constitution of December 1937. The use of three colors is attested from 1830, when the Irish patriots celebrated the return of the tricolor in France after the revolution of 1830. The flag in its current arrangement was developed in 1848 by the Young Ireland movement. He was raised in Dublin during the Easter Uprising of 1949. It was a long banned flag in the six northern counties under British sovereingty. The tricolor national flag was seen as an all Ireland, hence the Northern Irish nationalists used it.

SITUATION OF IRELAND
Ireland is situated west of Great Britain from which it is separated by the St George's Channel, the Irish Sea and North Channel. It limits the northeast with the Scotia Sea and east by the Irish Sea. The total area of Ireland is 70,282 square kilometers, with 5,630 kilometers of coastline.
